In 2003, I began a series of interviews with various music educators who were well respected across the state. The goal is to capture their stories for the benefit of future educators and to remember the work from those that came before us.
The purpose of this web site is to share these interviews so that others may grow and enjoy their stories. Even though interview collection has spanned many years, this is a work in progress. So watch for updates.
This site is dedicated to Dr. William "Bill" Clark, my professional mentor, former boss, and great friend. May he rest in peace. Many thanks to Jon Hunner, Professor of History, for his encouragement when I started this project.
As you read about these "New Mexico Gems" you will find people who are especially good teachers, always willing to help the greater profession, and are tough enough to spend a career teaching music.
