William "Bill" Clark came to New Mexico State University in 1985 as Director of Bands after building excellent band programs at Delta State University and Arkadelphia High School. He was appointed Music Department Head in 1990 and became an emeritus professor in 1999. He passed away on July 31, 2022. This interview was done in the fall of 2010.
Norvil Howell became the Clovis High School band director in 1956 and over the next 24 years built a nationally recognized high school band program. In 1980, he become the supervisor of music for the Clovis school district and in 1994 became the Executive Director for the New Mexico Music Educator's Association. This interview was conducted in the spring of 2003 as he was stepping down from the Executive Director's position.
