Roger Schvaneveldt
Welcome to Roger's Web site.
I am Professor Emeritus of New Mexico State University and of Arizona State University. My research interests span
several problems in cognitive psychology and applications of cognitive
psychology.
Recently, I have
been conducting research in aviation psychology including the analysis of how
pilots prioritize information in various flight situations and the assessment
of knowledge change with pilot training.
I am also
investigating abductive reasoning (or reasoning to the best explanation) along
with computational methods for accomplishing such reasoning.
I continue to
investigate and implement software for network analysis of proximity data. In
that connection, I am President of Interlink, distributors of Pathfinder software for Pathfinder Network
analysis.
In my spare time, I
like to hike, fish for trout, and spend time with my Australian Shepherd,
Sombra.
